Kournikova played in singles, with little successes, but her doubles team was incredibly successful. She achieved worldwide popularity through her looks and modeling assignments and to this date remains one of the most searched athletes on the internet. She is a former professional tennis player from Russia. At the age of 14, she was the youngest player ever to win the Fed Cup and compete in professional tennis. This achiever was able to make it to the U.S Open when she was barely 15 years old. She at 16 managed to reach up to the semi-finals of Wimbledon. She retired from tennis professionally when she was 21 due to back problems.
